Robotics Students Shine
We’re celebrating a HUGE
weekend for Hockaday robotics and STEM engagement!
This weekend, 32 students from the Classes
of 2032–2034 competed across seven FIRST LEGO League (FLL)
teams, nine students from the Classes of 2030–2031
competed on our Middle School FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team,
and members of our Upper School FTC team were also in
competition. Hockaday women are truly representing in the North
Texas robotics scene!
The competitions also wrapped up
Hockaday’s first Daisy Afternoons FLL Robotics class, a
tremendous success. Students spent the semester engineering,
coding, prototyping, problem-solving, and
collaborating.
At the Adamson High School Qualifier, all
seven all-rookie FLL teams performed beautifully, with several
earning awards:

Meanwhile, our Upper School FTC team, 9626
Hockabots, competed in their first qualifier of the season,
ranking 9th out of 31 teams, advancing to playoffs, and earning
2nd Place for the Sustain Award, recognizing excellence in
long-term team impact, leadership, and sustainability.
